The key is a very effective access tool, but you cannot share it without losing control of it. You hand it over and you can’t change your mind, you can’t revoke access if you’ve given it to the wrong person, and in some cases you don’t even know if a copy has been made. Of course, you can’t limit the operation of a key to certain hours or days, you can’t revoke it or send it remotely. If you lose your keys you change the lock if it goes wrong, the cylinder if it goes right.

Think of someone managing an apartment on Airbnb: each guest requires a physical delivery of keys, an agreed-upon time, a return. Three apartments becomes a full-time job. Or think about someone who has a caregiver or a domestic helper who comes in three times a week: giving her a copy means giving her unlimited access, forever, without being able to know when she came in and when she left. Or again: you have a second home in the mountains that you rent or lend to friends and acquaintances. Each time you have to organize the handover of keys as if it were a logistical operation and always hope that everything goes right.

Pomolink solves all these problems without changing the door, without replacing the cylinder, without calling a technician. You buy it, install it in 5 minutes, configure it in another 5 minutes, and after a few days you’ll wonder, “But how did I do it before?”

What is Pomolink

Pomolink is the motorized smart knob from MOIA Serrature – a Turin-based company with more than four decades in the security lock business – premiered atERSI 2026 in Bologna, Italy’s leading trade fair for the sector, where it garnered significant interest among installers, distributors and real estate market operators.

It is a retrofit device: it is applied to the inside of the security door by engaging with the existing European cylinder. It does not replace the cylinder, does not modify the door, and does not require structural work. The security certification of the door remains intact. The mechanical key continues to work all the time – just flanked by a smarter system.

How it works

Once installed and configured via the app, Pomolink responds to smartphone actuators via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). From the app, the door is opened and locked, automatic locking is set, users are managed, and a history of each access is consulted with date, time, and identity of who entered.

The connection can be optimized on five modes, which can be selected according to one’s habits:

  • Fast – response in about 3 seconds, for those who open several times a day
  • Balanced – about 6 seconds, 10% battery saving
  • Slow – about 10 seconds, 20% savings
  • Adaptive – the device learns usage habits and adjusts itself
  • Saving – activates only when there is a knock on the door (3-4 knocks); ideal for vacation homes or occasional accesses

The rechargeable lithium battery provides about 120 days of battery life with 10 opening and locking cycles per day – or six months in standard home use. Charging takes about three hours via USB-C. With battery below 20 percent, the device issues alerts well in advance. In any case, the door always opens with a mechanical key.

Advanced features include: autolock with 15- to 240-second timers, smart autolock with programmed time slots (e.g., after 10 p.m.), delayed locking (you pull the door behind you and Pomolink closes all the sockets for you), silent opening so you won’t be disturbed at night, and full reporting of each event with clockwise logs.

Installation: do-it-yourself in five minutes

Installation does not require special skills or the intervention of a technician. To understand how to proceed, two independent variables must be clarified: the type of cylinder and its projection from the door.

1. The type of cylinder

Armored doors primarily mount two types of European cylinders, both of which are compatible with Pomolink.

Key-key cylinder – has key hole on both sides. Pomolink engages the key inserted on the inner side. Works with emergency function and non-friction cylinders. MOIA recommends the emergency function friction cylinder-the two sides turn independently and the outside responds normally in any situation. With an emergency function non-friction cylinder, it works equally well, but when opening from the outside with the mechanical key-typically when Pomolink is unloaded-the inside key is pushed out and must be repositioned with the tool included in the package.

Key-code cylinder – has the key on the outside and a rotating wing nut on the inside instead of the lock, which allows locking and unlocking from the inside without using keys. For this configuration, you remove the wing nut and attach the plastic adapter included in the package, which Pomolink uses as an attachment point. No additional requirement on cylinder type.

2 – The protrusion of the cylinder

Regardless of the type of cylinder, the method of attachment changes depending on whether the cylinder protrudes or is flush:

Protruding cylinder-Pomolink attaches to the cylinder with the four included mounting screws, using a standard screwdriver.

Flush door cylinder – you use the special high tack double-sided adhesive included in the package. You clean the surface, apply Pomolink and hold pressure for 1-2 minutes.

Access management: the real value

Pomolink supports up to 37 users with differentiated profiles. The master-the owner of the device-adds, modifies, and revokes access, sets restrictions by day and clockwise, and consults the log of each event in real time. Two masters with the same privileges can coexist.

For occasional or temporary access, there are digital keys (e-keys): links with a defined start date, expiration date, and clockwise times, to be sent via WhatsApp, SMS, or email. The recipient does not register or install anything: he opens the link in front of the door and logs in. Access revocable at any time, even remotely by deleting the key.

In practice:

  • Short-term rentals and B&Bs – stand-alone check-in without physical delivery, code that expires at checkout, history for each stay. No keys to duplicate, retrieve or lock in case of non-return.
  • Housekeepers, caregivers, service staff – active access only on agreed days and hours. No key copies, no out-of-hours access, complete log of every entry and exit.
  • Vacation homes and second homes – you give guests and maintainers access remotely, without arranging deliveries. The e-key automatically expires on the appointed date.
  • Professional firms and small offices-employees with limited access to work schedules, technicians with single-use e-keys, no physical key management.
  • Families – always-on access for family members, temporary e-keys for one-time entrants, notification (if set) whenever someone opens the door.

The ecosystem: three devices, one management

Pomolink is the center of an ecosystem composed of two other products that integrate and are managed from the same app.

WiFi Smart Bridge

The WiFi Bridge brings Pomolink to the Internet in total security. Without it, the device operates in Bluetooth – perfect for everyday use in close proximity. With the Bridge, control becomes remote: opening and locking from anywhere in the world, real-time notifications at every access, creating and revoking e-keys without being present. It supports up to four Pomolinks on a single device-useful for those managing multiple accesses or multiple housing units. With Bridge enabled, temporary codes for the keypad can also be generated remotely, without physical connection to the lock.

Bluetooth keypad

The Keypad adds physical access via five-digit PIN code-no phone, no key. It mounts on the wall outside the door, is activated by approaching the palm of the hand, and supports up to 100 codes with permanent, timed or recurring permissions on specific days and times. It is the ideal solution for people who don’t like smartphones, service staff, and employees with regular access. All codes are created and managed from the app-the keypad has no direct programming interface.

A really smart door, without changing anything

Pomolink is designed for people who want to stop managing physical keys-duplicates, deliveries, retrievals, replacements-without replacing or modifying the door or cylinder and without any technical intervention. It installs on the cylinder you already have, sets up in minutes, and from that moment on every access is programmable, traceable and revocable.

The mechanical key remains available as a backup and always works. The structural security of the door does not change, only the control changes: from physical, limited, and local to digital, remote, flexible, and totally secure.

MOIA has been in the home, professional, and industrial security business for more than four decades, and Pomolink brings to a consumer product the same attention to security that our company has been applying to security doors, garages, hatches, and access systems for decades.
